Long-distance move from Pigeon Forge, TN to Moriarty, NM

Horrible Customer Service

They picked up my stuff in TN on July 15. I called July 26 to schedule delivery. Never heard from them again. Movers called August 24 to say they would be there the 25. I called everyday and nobody would answer or return calls. Then they charged me again for stairs and a second stop. I already paid for those. They charged me $45 for a box that Swift Van Lines had told me would be maybe 10-15. Swift already charged me for the stairs and stop. The mileage was about 60 miles closer but I was still charged the full distance. New washer is dented, furniture is scratched and scuffed, piece is actually broken off. They don't care. There is no customer service. DO NOT use this company of Swift Van Lines. They will rip you off.

Worst service ever

Moved from Ooltewah, TN to Lansing MI Too much of my stuff was ruined to even list...Thought was going thru Van Line Inc and had this guy show up with his 20 yr old son from Relo Van Lines that Van Lines Ince contracted...Most careless and rude movers ever and cost over $6,000 which was more than double of what Van Line Inc said...When my things were delivered my curio cabinet completely destroyed, china cabinet destroyed, brand new fish tank destroyed, collectable crystal etc destroyed, my mama passed away in 2012 and I got her cedar hope chest , my parents were married almost 65 yrs..the son shoved it down the steps which I have witnesses to, destroyed the cedar chest, collectible plates from russian, israel etc shattered, boxes unmarked and alot not even protected...asked my 94 yr old Dad for a 10% tip...he gave them $400...papers showed 110 boxes and got only 35 of them...alot more stuff and furniture missing or destroyed, alot which is not replaceable. The owner was and is rude, when my stuff finally got delivered cost me a extra $200 just to bring the stuff inside. Rudest and worst moving company to ever exist!

Colonial Van Lines - Update.

This is an update to my previous review of Colonial Van Lines (CVL) Relocation Division from 2 November 2016. Since I posted that review, within 12 hours CVL contacted me to learn more about my move and its problems and to try to work towards a resolution of the problems. I'm happy to say that we have agreed on a fair resolution of the issues and that it happened pretty quickly. Their Escalation Manager took my case to upper management and we rapidly resolved all of my complaints I'm impressed by how quickly they responded and we got it done. They say the are working hard to improve their company's performance and responsiveness and it seems that they are. Scott, Huntsville AL.

Everything destroyed.

Total neglect and disrespect. That is the only way I can describe the catastrophe that happened to our possessions with this company. They stacked everything on top of the ATV smashing the plastic and suspension. The boxes were all smashed to include the content. They wanted paid through PayPal under the name express van lines then didn't pay the drivers who wouldn't give us our stuff until they received payment from Alex, the guy we dealt with. We had to call PayPal and the credit card company to get our money back then pay the movers in cash to get our stuff. This is completely unacceptable.

Long-distance move from New York, NY to Houston, TX

Broke my furniture and Poor Customer Service.

I highly advise you NOT to use this Relo Van Lines. They broke my $2,000+ wooden bed frame and dress-suit valet stand. The movers actually acknowledged that it was broken because the pieces were so damaged that they could not put it together. They agreed to remove my wooden bed frame from my apartment because it was actually unsafe to sleep on. After over 6 months of emailing Best Interstate Moving Company that procured Relo Van Lines, nothing has been done. Relo Van Lines does not respond cause they don't care and Best Interstate Moving Company just points the finger at Relo Van Lines.

Long-distance move from Tupelo, MS to Louisville, KY

DO NOT leave your belongings with this company

Relo van lines was a secondary company hired by best choice moving to move my belongings across states. Not only was the customer service terrible. Several of my belongs were broken or outright destroyed. On pick up they will quote you 3x what you agreed upon no matter what your initial contract was. They will also not contact you whatsoever about the delivery of your belongings as I received a call only an hour before my belongings were brought to me. In conclusion save yourself the money and the headache and make sure your moving company does NOT hire Relo Van Lines. It is not legitimate and the service is awful all around.

Long-distance move from Louisville, KY to San Francisco, CA

Extremely poor service - Do not use

Relo Van Lines was used by Metro Hop Relocation for my move. Delivery of goods took more than 3 weeks. I was initially told 7-15 business days which after pickup quickly became 15-30 business days. There was no way to contact them except through Metro Hop.

Furniture was packed by wrapping blankets around them and legs being taped to it. A TV cabinet, a dresser and a china cabinet were damaged during the move and delivered with broken legs/stand due to gross mishandling. Multiple boxes were split open and grossly damaged at time of delivery.

Multiple charges were added on at the last minute which were not discussed with Metro Hop Relocation. They would not unload furniture without me paying for a random last minute charge of "long-distance carry" while using an elevator. Metro Hop relocation was not available by phone at time of delivery to discuss this charge, leading to me having to pay said amount.

There were delays even on the day of delivery and I was threatened with late fees due to not being available at their time of arrival which was 6 hours after stated time.

At time of contract signing, I was assured I could pay using Zelle and at time of delivery this was not possible and they would only accept cash or money order. Having paid $300 for a shuttle at the time of contract signing, an additional $105 was charged by Relo Van Lines because those were "their charges".

There has been no response to emails or phone calls about damage claims. DO NOT USE RELO VAN LINES AND/OR METRO HOP RELOCATION. Terrible services, unprofessional movers.

Long-distance move from Tennessee to New York

Horrible experience.

The estimate given was not met. Actual guy filling out the paper work and I had a discussion on possible refund if my load was under weight.  At no time was I informed he believed it was more. I was not informed of the additional cost until hours before delivery.  I was not given a copy of "new visual binding estimate". The moving company contracted by this broker has an F rating with BBB.  Apparently Relo or All State (cant figure out why they have two names) does not care who they contract for your move.  Items lost. It was a very, very costly mistake to use this company. .

Worst Company Ever!

What an awful experience! I'm not one to complain but this company is the worst. Here is a list:They were a week late picking up my stuff, and about 4 days late dropping it off. They only had two movers to move all my stuff up three stories (it took 12 hours). The movers expected me to help them unload the  truck, and provide them with food. They spilled antifreeze on half of my boxes. They overcharged me for the stairs and said they couldn't refund me.After I unpacked I realized I was missing about $400 worth of my things.I filed a claim for my missing items, and after 3 months they told me there was nothing they could do because I signed the papers already. The customer service is the worst  I have ever dealt with!

Stolen/Missing Items.

My big mistake was to contract with American Van Lines because they sold their business to MBM Movers from N Carolina and Relo.  We had numerous problems with scheduling and added costs and scratched flooring on the day of delivery..but my primary complaint is the refusal of Relo to honor a complaint about stolen/missing items.  After waiting many weeks for my items, I signed some forms on a hot summer night (after having spent over $500 on unexpected charges)--as it turns out, I should not have signed anything until I had gone through all 70 or so boxes and examined all of the furniture.  Of course, no one explained that option to me.  I filed a complaint with Relo for about $800-$900; it took me a lot of time to put together all of the documentation.  Weeks later, I received a form letter informing me that my signature on the day of delivery nullified any claims.  Consumers should steer clear of any mover like American Van Lines that will sell your move to others.  If I could do it over again, I would pay more up front and work only with a major moving company, especially on a cross-country move.  Be sure that the move will be handled by the same company and have one contact person/agent through the whole process; don't sign anything upon delivery if it waives your right to file a claim.  I don't like to file complaints.  The guys from MBM moving--who did the actual move--worked hard, and they have a tough job.  I didn't like being told on the day of delivery, though, that there would be an extra cost to transport items from sidewalk to the first-floor apartment because the building is set back from the street.  They already had photos and site plan of the property.  .
